Honeybee by teaganwhite Honeybee by teaganwhite
Honeybee! The drawing was commissioned as a tattoo a while back, finally finished coloring it up. Please respect my client who paid for this, and do not use it as a tattoo yourself!

I just read that honeybees do something called a tremble dance. How cute is that?

Breathtaking; I love your style. My Dad is a beekeeper, so I have an affinity for bees too; that was what attracted me to this.

How do you color your drawings in Photoshop? Do you turn it in PDF file before coloring?

I have a tutorial here! [link]
..Why would you turn it into a PDF? I have never heard of that!

PDF?! OH, my mistake! I mean bitmap.

nah i don't -- i only really use bitmaps if i scan something that's supposed to have flat, solid color and very clean lines as a bitmap tiff (but then i convert it to a jpeg as soon as it's in photoshop) or if i'm exporting a layer of color to illustrator

Very beautiful and detailed! There is actually a big problem with the disappearance of bees. There's a chemical used as repellant for crops that causes them to forget where the plant pollen is, and they die because they can't feed and tell their friends about it. It's been discontinued from use in the UK, but America still uses it. The Earth will crumble faster from lack of bees than most everything else. Go green? I'd rather go yellow. I planted a garden to feed the bees. I used to be scared of them, but now they're my bros. : >

yeah i know, it's a horrible situation. it's lovely that you planted a garden for them! i can't wait to have a vegetable garden as soon as i own a house (i'm renting for the time being) and i definitely plan on encouraging bees to frequent it with the choice of plants, and using only natural ways of repelling other insects that would damage the garden, like growing other plants that tend to repel them instead of using pesticides.

Yes yes! I'm so glad you knew about the bee problem. Lately it seemed like nobody knew. It's such a simple fix, but I figure they don't do anything about it because it'll cost money. And everyone is money hungry, now. : (

I'm not sure if anyone has figured out for certain the cause of Colony Collapse Disorder. My Dad is a beekeeper, and the latest he heard is that it has more to do with certain species of mites that prey on honeybees than anything.
